The leader of the Polish national team, Michal Kubiak, will have to play the next six matches at best on the spectator stand – in his interview, he expressed disrespect and contempt for the players from Iran, accusing them of arrogance and chauvinism. Although his words were not addressed specifically to all the inhabitants of Iran, but only to the volleyball team. The disciplinary committee of the Polish Volleyball Union decided to punish Kubiak for unsportsmanlike behavior.

The League of Nations continues to delight volleyball fans with spectacular matches – the news of the Russian national volleyball team is proof of this. True, the women's team was again unlucky – the team suffered another defeat.

The list of candidates for hosting the men's volleyball world championship in 2022 has been replenished with one more city – Yekaterinburg has applied and expressed its readiness to organize this sports festival. The city authorities plan to create a multifunctional arena – a place for home games of the Avtomobilist hockey club. It is here, perhaps, that the new world champion in volleyball will be determined.

As for the League of Nations, our women’s team still cannot cross the black line – almost all games from the series (six out of seven) ended in the defeat of our athletes. This time Belgium pulled out the victory from the hands of our volleyball players, adding another triumph to the previous two victories.

Our publication has learned that thirty-seven-year-old volleyball coach Alexei Igorevich Verbov will now train our national team. The second Russian volleyball team will be under his leadership, which is to perform at the Universiade in Naples, Italy. Konstantin Sidenko will help coach Alexei Verbov in this preparation. By the way, the fees begin very soon – the tenth of June 2019. It remains to wish our team successful training.

The good news is that Russian winger Yegor Kluka was named the best player in the first week of the Men's Volleyball League of Nations. Kluka managed to score almost fifty goals in three games, while making eleven aces and making seven blocks. Despite the unfortunate defeat in the game with France, our team bounced back in the match with Japan and Serbia.
